Muscles
One great
exercise, that's totally underrated, is swimming. Swimming can help you lose
weight and tone your muscles. A lot of dieters don't want to go to the pool due
to the fact that they'll have to wear bikinis and swim trunks, but you'll be in
the water for most of the time, so don't think about this too much. Besides,
facing your fears is a great way to overcome them!
It is a
well known fact that muscle burns at least four times more calories then fat
does. Having more muscle on your body will help you to loose weight without
doing much work. To build up your muscles, do some strength training at least
two to three times a week.
Being
fidgety can help you lose weight - really! Keep yourself moving even when you
are sitting. Try tapping your foot; doing muscle exercises - tense different
muscles and hold for a few seconds, then release and repeat; or drumming your
fingers. If anyone asks what you're doing, just tell them. You might start a
trend!
An aerobics
workout actually makes it easier to exercise, so include it in your exercise
regime. A gradual increase in the intensity of your workout, as you get used to
an aerobic workout, makes your body better able to sustain exercise, as well as
other benefits, like burning fat and increasing muscles.
Sport
Start a
hobby that involves a lot of activity. Picking up a hobby can burn a lot of
calories and provide you with some additional exercise. If there is a sport you
enjoy, get out there and join a team or play for fun. An activity that gets you
out of the house is great for keeping in shape.
You will be
more successful with weight loss if you find a type of exercise that you enjoy.
You are more likely to exercise if you are having fun. You can participate in a
favorite sport, or become interested in a new one. If you have physical issues
that keep you from performing some sports then try a walking program. It is
simple and cheap to do.
If food is
a major pleasure in your life, consider trying out new activities in order to
develop a hobby. Try a new sport, volunteer somewhere, or read a good book. Do
anything that will shift your focus from food to something else you enjoy.
There are limitless activities for you to try out.
Joining a
men's or woman's sports team sponsored by a local park district or other entity
can be a fun and beneficial move for someone who is trying to lose weight.
Apart from the benefits from the increased activity levels one can also meet
new people. Going to play a sport will be much more enjoyable than solitary
exercise and result in greater commitment.
